My love for the water began when I started my first swimming lessons 20 years ago. I still remember my teacher Miss Alison, who gave me my passion to swim. I want to be that teacher for kids today. My love for swim continued after swim lessons as I participated in 7 years of competitive swim team including club swim. I still hold records for Queen Creek High School in swim events. I have taught swim lessons for 5 seasons now and I love it. I am CPR and first aid certified. For my career I am a children’s counselor and do swim lessons in the summer for fun. Swimming lessons is a joy for me and I enjoy seeing my students progress.
Water safety will be an enforced concept for the children. Your child will learn the foundations of swimming technique. Beginners will learn to kick, use their arms, side breath, float on their backs and swim to an edge from jumping in. More advanced swimmers will improve their overall swim technique and implement advanced strokes. If there are techniques that you would like your child to learn please let me know and I can ensure they accomplish those goals.
All swim lessons are held at Grandma’s Pool, my grandma that is. The pool has a shallow large step that the children can walk on and hangout while others take their turns. The pool also has a slide that we turn on at the end of the week to celebrate accomplishments of the children. There is an area with shade at both ends of the pool that parents can sit and watch children from within the gate.
Above all I want your children to have fun through learning. As your child starts to see their improvements and accomplishments they will start to feel excited and safe about swimming. Swimming lessons can be more fun as the child has supportive parents cheering them on. Your reassurance and excitement will be a vital role in your child’s positive experience. As you see your child grow and improve you will have pride and happiness. Show them your excitement, they will love it! Who says that parents can’t have fun with swim lessons too right?! To this day I still find swimming fun and I hope my students and parents will find that same enjoyment through swim lessons this year.
